Anti-Wrinkle Injections: What To Expect And How To Prep

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are the three anti-wrinkle toxins that we offer at Deux Rose. Anti-wrinkle injections are ideal for preventive anti-aging measures and can also help treat teeth grinding, headaches, and excessive sweating. This post will cover some of the common questions asked about these treatments and what to expect prior and post-appointment!

What Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections And Where Does It Go?

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are different brands of anti-wrinkle solutions that all contain botulinum toxin A. This toxin is typically applied to areas of the face that have excessive muscle movement that can lead to premature wrinkles. Common areas to inject the anti-wrinkle toxins to prevent wrinkles are crows feet, forehead, and “Elevens”.

If clients are grinding their teeth or would like to have a slimmer jawline, the toxin can be injected into the masseter muscles. For excessive sweating, toxins can also be injected into the armpits and for headaches, a physician can inject into select areas on the head.

How Long Do Anti-Wrinkle Injections Last?

On average, clients will experience the result of the toxin for 3 to 6 months. Individual results can vary depending on the client’s metabolic rate. If an individual has a higher metabolism, they may experience a shorter result with injections.

What Do I Need To Do Before My Anti-Wrinkle Appointment?

There is generally little preparation needed prior to an appointment, however, it is always recommended to arrive hydrated and rested to an appointment.

Do The Injections Hurt?

Anti-Wrinkle injections are relatively comfortable and do not typically require a client to be numbed before the injection. The treatment takes just a few moments, on average it takes just 15 to 20 minutes.

What Do I Need To Do After My Anti-Wrinkle Appointment And What Can I Expect?

After an appointment, clients should avoid activity that induces excessive sweating, they should also avoid touching the site of injection so the toxin does not spread to any undesired areas. The result of the toxin will fully set 7 to 10 days post-treatment. It is possible that the muscle will begin to “freeze” unevenly over the course of the 7 to 10 days but will even out by the 10th day.

How Much Are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

The cost will vary from state to state due to unit regulations. In Nevada, anti-wrinkle toxins must be purchased and administered in their full unit entirety. For example, Botox comes in a full 50 units and must be purchased in the full 50 units under Nevada law. At our clinic, these anti-wrinkle seatings are $485. We do not permit the splitting of vials or the administration of the toxin from one vial into more than one patient.

Patients with heart conditions, autoimmune disease, neuromuscular disorders, or uncontrolled diabetes are not eligible as well.
