How the body responds to injections is unique to each individual. Most patients are received injections with ease but this can not be said for everyone. A small number of patients report that they feel their injection result significantly decreased shortly after their appointment. This occurrence can be said for both fillers and anti-wrinkle injections. This article is here to shed some light on possible reasons as to why this happens.

Fast Metabolism
Clients who have a faster metabolic rate are more likely to experience a shorter lifespan with dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections. It is common for clients who have active lifestyles or naturally fast metabolisms to experience the shorter results.

The Amount Of Filler
In each syringe of dermal filler is 1ml of product, this amount is about a quarter of a teaspoon. Dermal fillers are also comprised of synthetic hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is produced naturally within the body and small amount of the filler is immediately absorbed upon impact, sometimes up to 30%. So, not only is the full syringe a small amount of product, a portion of the filler is immediately absorbed.

Perception
Understanding dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections will assist the client in having realistic expectations for results and what to expect. It is common for clients to experience swelling, as we mentioned in the previous section, dermal fillers are synthetic hyaluronic acid. This allows the body to absorb the substance, but it can also cause swelling. Clients experiencing swelling and get accustomed to seeing their lips at the size of the swelling. Often, once this swelling has subsided, clients may perceive their lip volume as being completely back to normal or not as full as they want them to be.

The Type Of Filler
There are more than one type of filler that clients can select from. At Deux Rose Beauty Refinery we carry the full filler suites of Juvederm and Restylane. Some fillers are more hydrophilic in comparison to others, meaning they induce more swelling than other fillers by drawing water from the body to the site of the injection.

These are just some possible reasons as to why clients experience shorter filler results. It is important to remember that while you can have the top of the line products, safety equipment and a skilled injector, how a person reacts to to injections is unique to each person.
