What is Sculptra?

what-is-sculptra

If you’ve only recently heard of Sculptra, we’d like to officially welcome you to the party. Because while Sculptra has been around in Europe since the late-90’s, the injectable treatment only gained FDA approval in 2004, but is finally gaining the recognition it deserves.

Looking for Las Vegas Sculptra services can be a bit tricky, but our trained and licensed nurse injectors got your back (and your face). We’ve put together a few of the most popular questions about Sculptra to hold you over until you can meet with one of our nurses.

What is Sculptra?

For all intents and purposes, Sculptra is a cosmetic injection that is used to restore facial volume. But the little known super power of Sculptra is its collagen-production that continues to build results long after the procedure. In this sense, Sculptra isn’t like other fillers, because, well, it isn’t a filler. Sculptra is actually a poly-L-lactic acid that promotes skin thickness in areas where hollowness and sunken areas have appeared like the face and buttocks.

How Long Does Sculptra Last?

While each patient, and metabolism, is different, Sculptra results can last beyond two years. Even after that, because of its continued collagen-production capabilities, most patients only need one treatment a year.

How Long does it take for Sculptra to Start Working?

Like we said earlier, Sculptra is not a filler. Specifically, Sculptra is not a Hyaluronic Acid filler, which means that while you might not see immediate results, your results will be seen over time. A gradual change up to 12 weeks after the injection is typical for most patients.

What are the side effects of Sculptra?

The most common side effects of Sculptra are minor bruising, swelling and redness at or near the area of the injection site.

How Many Vials of Sculptra Do I Need?

While each patient is unique in their individual needs, a general rule of thumb is one vial of Sculptra per every decade they’ve been alive. Obviously this is just a rule of thumb and does not account for excessive volume loss, etc. But our nurse injectors will clear up any questions about vial quantity during consultation.

Sculptra is one of our favorite skin products on the market. To learn more about Sculptra or any of the other services at our Las Vegas med spa, give us a call or book your consultation today!
