    Cheek Filler Guide: Everything You Want to Know

    Did you know there is a way to add shape, structure AND symmetry to your face? While there are many options, one of our favorite solutions is cheek filler! Cheek filler is becoming increasingly popular in the medical spa industry, so to learn everything you need to know, keep reading.

    What is cheek filler?

    Cheek filler is an injection into the cheekbone area that is frequently used to restore volume loss and/or define facial bone structure. Commonly used cheek fillers include traditional hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulants. Different areas of the cheek can be treated for various results!

    Is 1 mL of cheek filler enough?

    With many treatments in medical spas, an injector might recommend just one syringe of filler at a time; however, when it comes to this area, one mL of cheek filler is not enough. Simply put, one syringe of cheek filler will not achieve a noticeable difference, so more than one mL is typically required to achieve optimal results.

    What can be achieved with cheek filler?

    Cheek filler can be used in a variety of ways, most commonly used to add shape, structure, symmetry and facial balance. Placement and technique are critical for cheek filler procedures, so it’s important to choose a well-experienced injector. Cheek filler treatments are modified to your specific needs, goals and anatomy. Additionally, cheek filler treatments can subsequently address under eye circles and laugh lines depending on your treated area.

    How long does cheek filler last?

    As we mentioned earlier, either hyaluronic fillers or biostimulants are used in cheek filler treatments. If treated with hyaluronic fillers, your results will be immediate and on average, will last between 9-12 months. If treated with a biostimulant, your results will take a few months to build and can last for up to two years. A variety of factors impact the longevity of your results, such as your metabolism, how frequently you exercise and more.
    Most, if not all, cheek filler patients will require a minimum of two syringes to begin with. Similarly to other cosmetic treatments, optimal cheek filler results are achievable with multiple treatments and maintenance appointments.
