  • Debunking Botox Myths

Whether you’re new to Botox or a frequent Botox receiver, you’ve probably heard a few Botox myths along the way. At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, our professional injectors are here to help you feel safe, educated and well-prepared prior to your treatments. If you’re ready to learn more about frequent Botox myths, keep reading.

Botox Myth #1: Botox is toxic.

If this were to be true, many medical spas would not be in business. Botox is both a protein and a neurotoxin. Despite what some people say, Botox is not capable of causing damage to your nervous system. When Botox is being injected, a minuscule amount is used for cosmetic purposes and is incapable of causing any significant damage. If you feel unsure, remember that Botox is FDA-approved and can only be dangerous if used in excessive amounts, just like any other medication.

Botox Myth #2: Getting Botox hurts.

Many of our patients tell us that they are quite surprised at what little discomfort they feel during their Botox treatment! A tiny needle is used for Botox injections, so a fear of needles shouldn’t hold you back. The actual Botox application itself only takes a couple minutes and most patients report minimal (if any) discomfort or pain.

Botox Myth #3: Botox is the cure for all wrinkles.

As much as we would like for this to be true, it is unfortunately another myth. While Botox is commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles in your face, it is not a solution to all facial wrinkles. Botox is great for treating smaller, dynamic wrinkles such as crow’s feet, bunny lines and your frown lines. For larger, more static wrinkles, those can often be treated with various fillers. To determine which treatment might be best for you, we recommend scheduling a consultation.

Botox Myth #4: Botox entirely freezes your face.

Despite how Botox is commonly portrayed in movies, it actually does not entirely freeze your face. If Botox is administered correctly by an experienced injector, you’ll still be able to make facial expressions while minimizing your wrinkles. However, if you are a patient who likes a more “frozen” look, that is always an option as well. Prior to your treatment being administered, your nurse injector will discuss your aesthetic goals with you.

At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, you can rest assured that you’re receiving quality care by experienced injectors. If you have any additional questions about Botox (or any other treatments), feel free to discuss them with your injector or with our knowledgable front desk staff. To book your Botox treatment, give our office a call at 702-683-2831 or click here to book online.

  • Medical Grade Skincare vs. Regular Skincare

In the skincare industry there is a plethora of products and brands to choose from. For many people, this can become confusing or overwhelming when you don’t know which products are most suitable for your skincare concerns. Often times, regular skincare products that you can purchase anywhere won’t yield the results you’re looking for. To learn more about the difference between regular skincare and medical grade skincare, keep reading!

    1.) Scientifically Proven

Medical grade skincare products are based off science and studies. This means these products go through clinical trials to scientifically prove these products yield the results they claim to. Despite what other marketing campaigns might have you believe, this is not true for regular skincare brands in the general cosmetic industry.

    2.) Expertise

With regular, average skincare products, you typically purchase these products based off your own skincare self-diagnosis. When this happens, this means you might be purchasing products that aren’t accurately treating your skin concerns or worse… they’re making them worse!

When you purchase medical grade skincare at Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, we can schedule a skincare consultation with one of our talented and certified estheticians where they recommend medical grade products specifically for you and your concerns.

Don’t have time for a consultation? Click here to take our online skincare quiz to see which products we recommend for you!

    3.) Regulated by the FDA

When you’re shopping for medical grade skincare, you can only purchase these products from clinics with a medical director. Medical grade skincare contains high-strength ingredients in them, which means they are subject to FDA regulation. In comparison, the traditional cosmetic industry is largely self-regulated, which results in inconsistency in safety and efficacy of the products.

Medical grade skincare does not require a prescription, but medical grade products do work more quickly and effectively to treat your specific skin concerns and improve your skin’s general health.

    4.) Direct from Manufacturer

At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, we purchase our inventory directly from the manufacturers. Although you might find medical grade skincare online, approximately 33% of those products may not be genuine. To avoid any skincare disasters, we recommend purchasing your skincare directly from our clinic or from our Deux Rosé Physician Store online.

    5.) Comprehensive Treatment Plans

When you come to visit Deux Rosé, we build treatment plans specifically for you and your skin concerns. To maximize your results, we often recommend medical grade skincare products in conjunction with other esthetic treatments and/or injectable treatments.

Our estheticians and injectors provide you with expert recommendations so you can achieve the aesthetic goals you’ve always wanted. To book your skincare consultation and begin your skincare journey, contact our office by calling 702-683-2831 or click here to book online.

  • Top 5 Benefits of Microneedling Treatments

Microneedling treatments are a type of collagen induction therapy with many benefits. With microneedling, our estheticians use sterile needling to create mini trauma to the skin, which results in the production of collagen. At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, we use the FDA-approved SkinPen for our microneedling treatments to give you get the best treatment possible! To learn more about the benefits of microneedling, keep reading!

    1.) Collagen Production

If you’re not familiar with what collagen is, it’s a protein in the skin that enables structure, strength and a youthful appearance. When you are receiving a microneedling treatment, the mini trauma from the treatment causes a boost in collagen and elastin production. When there is a boost in collagen, this can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. For the best results, we recommend booking at least three microneedling treatments with 4-6 weeks in between each treatment.

    2.) Scar Reduction

As we mentioned earlier, microneedling induces the production of collagen and elastin. Because of this, microneedling can be quite effective at diminishing acne scarring and other scars on the skin. Additionally, microneedling is safe on all skin types! However, it is important to note that microneedling can help with most scars except keloid (AKA raised) scars.

    3.) Hyperpigmentation & Sun Damage

If your skin has been damaged by the sun, microneedling can help! Sun damage often looks like blotchiness and/or discoloration of the skin and this treatment can help even out your skin tone. Microneedling stimulates new cell growth, which can help with redness, hyperpigmentation, age spots and uneven skin tone.

    4.) Effectiveness of Skincare

Due to the mini trauma microneedling causes to the skin, it assists with the absorption of topical products. Products like serums, moisturizers, and creams are better absorbed by the micro-channels created by the microneedling treatment, which in return, helps with the overall hydration of your skin.

    5.) Less Downtime

Another amazing benefit of microneedling is that it has less downtime compared to other services such as laser treatments or chemical peels. Microneedling gives you essentially immediate results with no downtime. Within 24-48 hours of your treatment, most patients say they can see a visible difference in their skin. With other treatments, it can take weeks or months to begin to see a visible change!

Microneedling is an effective way to achieve a more radiant and youthful complexion. We recommend this treatment to anyone who is wanting to rejuvenate their skin! To book your appointment, give our front desk a call at 702-683-2831 or click here to book online.

  • Erbium YAG Treatments: What Even Are They?

Have you ever heard of an Erbium YAG treatment? Although it sounds like a silly name, it’s actually a legitimate laser treatment! Out of all of the laser treatments we offer at Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, what makes this one different? Keep reading to find out!

    What is Erbium YAG?

Erbium YAG laser treatments are minimally-invasive skin resurfacing treatments that completely transform your skin. This laser treatment works by targeting the water in the dermis and epidermis to help turn over and tighten the skin… We like to call it the laser alternative to chemical peels! By turning over the skin, this treatment helps improve texture, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, skin laxity and overall appearance.

How long does it take to see results?

Results from this treatment can be seen almost immediately! Immediately post-treatment, your skin will look brighter and feel smoother. As your skin heals in the days/weeks following the treatment, you will continue to see improvements. Additionally, you will continue to see improved results throughout multiple sessions and as the deeper layers of tissue continue to heal.

What is the downtime like for Erbium YAG treatments?

The downtime for this treatment varies as Erbium YAG treatments can be performed at a variety of intensities, depending on the patient. Typically, the downtime for this treatment is 1-3 weeks.

For 7 days, patients should avoid the sun and any sweating. Following the treatment, you can expect redness and possible peeling of the skin. It’s also important that you avoid any skincare products that contain active ingredients until your skin is fully healed.

What do I do after I’ve received my treatment?

After your treatment is over, your nurse will send you home with post-care products to help keep your skin moisturized. There is a limited amount of products you can use immediately post-care, so be sure to listen to your provider’s advice!

When it comes time to wash your face, be sure to only use cold or lukewarm water. As we mentioned earlier, you should avoid skincare products with active ingredients (retinol/retinoid, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.) until your skin has fully healed. To ensure you’re protecting your skin, avoid the sun for 1-3 weeks and always wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. If you have any aftercare questions, always feel free to contact out front desk!

Erbium YAG treatments are safe for all skin types and are a great option for patients looking to completely transform their skin! We typically recommend 3-6 sessions depending on your results, your esthetician’s suggestions and your desired aesthetic goals. If you’re ready to book your skincare consultation, give our office a call at 702-683-2831 or click here to book online.

  • 5 Things to Know About Preventative Botox

If you’re unfamiliar with Botox treatments, the term “preventative Botox” might be new to you. Preventative Botox is a term used to describe when patients preemptively (typically under the age of 30) begin Botox treatments to work against the onset of wrinkles. Ready to learn more? Keep reading to learn five facts about this preventative treatment!

1.) Starting Early Delays the Formation of Wrinkles

Beginning preventative Botox treatments at an early age means you begin temporarily paralyzing those muscles at a younger age! When you do this, it is training the muscles to learn to stay tight, delaying the formation of wrinkles. As we get older, wrinkles begin to form as a result from the sunlight, smoking, excessive squinting and the natural aging process and this is one way to combat that!

    2.) Preventative Botox is Simple

Preventative anti-wrinkle treatments are one of the easiest ways to maintain a younger look! At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, our anti-wrinkle appointments are only 30 minutes long. If you visit us twice a year, that means it only takes one hour out of your entire year to maintain a more youthful appearance! If you find it difficult to keep up with a consistent skincare regimen, this could be the solution for you.

    3.) You’ll See Quick Results

With anti-wrinkle treatments, you will see your full results in a matter of 1-2 weeks following your treatment! Unlike anti-wrinkle skincare products which can take weeks to months to yield visible results, this preventative treatment grants you quick results. While we always advocate for a strong skincare regimen, this is one way to quickly maintain a more youthful appearance!

    4.) Target Specific Areas

Do you have specific areas on your face you’re concerned about? No need to worry because this can help! Skincare products often require broad application to generally treat your skin concerns, but with Botox, your injector can target your specific areas of concern. Prior to your injection, your injector will measure and map your face to determine where you are most prone to develop wrinkles and target those areas as needed.

5.) The Right Injector Makes It a Great Experience

It’s important that you choose an injector that you trust! When you begin investing in these preventative treatments, you want your investment to be worth it. Choosing a qualified injector that you enjoy can ensure your satisfaction with your results. At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, our injectors are qualified, experienced and personable so you can rest assured you’re in safe hands. Our injectors measure and map your face to determine specifically where the product should be injected, all while discussing your aesthetic goals.

Although it won’t keep you looking young forever, preventative anti-wrinkle treatments can keep you looking younger for longer! When you begin receiving these treatments at an early age, you will delay the visible signs of lines, wrinkles and sagging skin as a result of aging. If you’re ready to book your appointment, give our office a call at 702-683-2831 or click here to book!

  • Here’s How to Transform Your Face!

Chin filler may not sound as exciting as lip filler, but it’s a small tweak that can make a big change in your face. A chin filler transformation is the perfect solution for patients looking to entirely enhance their facial profile with zero downtime!

Injectors and nurses often times talk about achieving “facial balance” in medical esthetics. In this industry, the “Golden Ratio,” is a way to quantify aesthetic balance. The Golden Ratio is roughly 1.6, which means a beautiful person’s face is about 1.5 times longer than it is wide. When patients begin receiving filler in other areas of their face, it’s important to maintain your facial balance so your ratio remains proportionate.

    What is chin filler?

Chin filler is a procedure that uses 1 mL of hyaluronic filler injected into the chin to accomplish a symmetrical look. Chin balancing is often a great solution for patients who have recessed chins, lack symmetry and/or want to even out their facial structure after receiving filler in other areas. To ensure you’re a candidate for a chin filler transformation, we recommend booking a consultation with one of our injectors.

    What is the procedure like?

Prior to the treatment, your injector will take facial measurements to determine the amount of product needed to achieve proper facial balancing. Chin balancing procedures take 35-45 minutes to complete.

    Is there any downtime?

Chin filler has very little downtime! Just like with any injectable treatment, swelling, bruising and tenderness near the injection site is possible. Avoid hard chewing, avoid exercise for 72 hours and be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. If you have any questions or concerns following your treatment, please contact our front desk.

You can expect to see immediate results following your treatment with your filler fully settling within 2 weeks of your treatment. Chin filler can last up to 12 months depending on your metabolic rate. To book your consultation to determine if chin filler is right for you, you may contact our office at 702-683-2831 or click here to book online. Let us build a custom treatment plan just for you!

  • WARNING: Do Not Try This Treatment at Home!

With the surge of TikTok trends, viral Facebook posts and Pinterest DIY’s, it can be hard to determine what is actually legitimate and what’s not. One of those current popular trends is at-home dermaplaning. Although it’s a popular trend on the internet, dermaplaning is one procedure you should not try to do yourself!

Dermaplaning is a treatment where a scalpel blade is used on the surface of the skin to remove dead skin cells & peach fuzz, exfoliating the skin and improving your skin’s texture. At-home dermaplaning treatments and tools simply shave your face, while dermaplaning treatments in a med spa are medical aesthetic treatments that do much more. While we do typically recommend this procedure to patients, it’s important you do not try it yourself. As previously mentioned, dermaplaning is performed with a scalpel blade, so when used incorrectly, there is a lot that could go wrong.

Effective and safe dermaplaning requires a specific technique and an exact angle. Without knowing this, it is extremely possible you can cut your skin, which can then result in an infection and/or scarring of the skin. Not only can self-dermaplaning be dangerous, but it can also be significantly less effective.

At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, we put safety first! Our certified aestheticians are trained on proper dermaplaning techniques, so you can rest assured you’re receiving a safe, effective treatment when you’re here. We recommend pairing a dermaplaning treatment with a HydraFacial to maximize the benefits of your facial treatment! To book your HydraFacial and/or skincare consultation, you can click here or give our front desk a call at 702-683-2831 today!

  • ‘Tis the Season for Laser Hair Removal!

With spring right around the corner, there is no perfect time to begin your laser hair removal journey than now! Dreaming of soon-to-be shorts weather and vacation time, you don’t want to miss the best time to begin your hair removal sessions. Continue reading to learn what exactly laser hair removal is, who is a candidate for this treatment and why now is the best time to begin your sessions!

    What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is the process of removing the hair in specific areas of your body, as the name suggests. The laser targets the melanin in the hair follicle, which inhibits or delays the hair growth. At Deux Rosé Beauty Refinery, we use a 810mm laser to target the hair. Unfortunately, one treatment is not enough to permanently prevent the hair growth. Typically, we recommend a minimum of six sessions with 4-8 weeks in between each session to achieve optimal results.

Why is Now the Best Time to Begin?

Winter time is the best time to begin your laser hair removal sessions, as it presents less opportunities for your skin to be exposed to the sun. Laser hair removal treatments can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, so it’s best to avoid it as much as possible. When you begin your laser treatments in the winter season, that means you will be seeing your results just in time for the warmer weather!

Am I a Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal treatments work best on patients with lighter skin tones and darker hair. Since the laser targets the melanin in the skin, patients with these characteristics typically see the quickest results.

Patients with darker skin tones tend to have a more challenging time with laser hair treatments, as there is more melanin in the upper layers of the skin which leads to an increased chance of burns from the laser. Due to this risk, your aesthetician will lower the power of the laser, meaning patients with darker skin tones typically require between 8-10 sessions to see optimal results.

Additionally, patients with lighter hair (such as blonde or red) can also be more complicated to treat. Because the laser targets the melanin in the hair follicle, that can be challenging in patients with lighter hair colors. This means that lighter-hair patients will also require between 8-10 sessions to achieve optimal results.
